The Feeling of Summer 2021
Lots has changed in the past 4 years.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my past 4 years of life growing in the games industry. I haven’t really written a blog on here for a couple of years, and so much has changed.
I am thinking back to the summer of 2021, I was at Jagex, as an intern, it was my first time working in the games industry, everything was so bright and fun!
I have some albums which really define Summer 2021:
4 years later, and I’m at a really fantastic job, but the games industry in general is in a really depressing and unsettled state at the moment, layoffs are happening left and right and so many people are losing their jobs. I didn’t really envision this 4 years ago, I thought the games industry was a lot more secure and stable.
These albums mean a lot to me, and I find I’m going back to them lots when I’m feeling stressed about how the games industry feels at the moment. I hope things return to how they felt in summer 2021, everything felt bright, happy, stable and hopeful.
